Gone are the old days of straining our eyes to look at conventional X-ray films. Our dental clinic was an early adopter of digital X-rays in 2002. This technological advancement in dentistry has resulted in the elimination of toxic processing chemicals and other waste products from conventional X-ray films, allowed expedited diagnosis and treatment of dental disease, and the reduction of radiation required to obtain quality dental images compared to those of conventional X-ray films. Digital dental X-ray nowadays is as common as digital cameras and cell phones.
